Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”)
The data subject has the right to request deletion of their data if processing is no longer necessary. We will review the request and either delete the data or provide a justified reason why it cannot be deleted.
Please note that the controller may have a statutory or other right to retain certain data. The controller is obligated to retain accounting material for the period defined in the Accounting Act (Chapter 2, Section 10) — 10 years. Therefore, accounting-related material cannot be deleted before the end of this retention period.
Withdrawal of consent
If the processing of personal data is based solely on consent and not, for example, on a customer relationship or membership, the data subject may withdraw their consent.
Right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Ombudsman
The data subject has the right to request that we restrict the processing of disputed data until the matter is resolved. They also have the right to file a complaint with the Data Protection Ombudsman if they believe that we are violating current data protection legislation. 6. Regular sources of data
The customer provides their first name and email address when ordering the Saimaan Saaristoreitti – Cyclist’s Guide.
7. Regular disclosures of data
No data is disclosed to external parties for marketing purposes.
8. Duration of processing
Personal data is generally processed for as long as the customer relationship is valid. The data subject can unsubscribe from the newsletter mailing list via a link included in each newsletter we send.
9. Processors of personal data
Personal data is processed by the controller and its employees. We may also outsource some of the processing to third parties, in which case we ensure through contractual arrangements that personal data is processed in accordance with applicable data protection legislation and appropriately in all respects.
10. Transfer of data outside the EU
We use the ActiveCampaign system for electronic direct marketing and customer communications. The information provided by the user is transferred to ActiveCampaign. ActiveCampaign is a US-based company, which means personal data is transferred outside the European Union. However, personal data is protected as required by data protection legislation, and ActiveCampaign is listed among companies certified under the EU–US Privacy Shield framework. 11. Automated decision-making and profiling
We do not use personal data for automated decision-making or profiling.
12. Cookies and browsing data
We collect information about the user’s device through cookies and similar technologies, such as the browser’s local storage. A cookie is a small text file stored on the user’s device by the web browser. Cookies often contain an anonymous, unique identifier that allows us to recognise and count the browsers visiting our website.
Our website also contains links to other websites and services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these external sites. Third parties may place cookies on the user’s device when they visit our services in order to compile visitor statistics for various websites.
